Sugar beet eelworm (Heterodera schachtii—Schmidt) causes considerable, yield losses in summer grown crucifers in Western Australia.
Between 1968 and 1970 a series of experiments with alternative nematicides was done to find a chemical which could equal DBCP in performance but not leave toxic residues.
