Plant collection for saltland revegetation and soil conservation

Abstract
Over 350 plants were added to a collection of 343 plants already under observation for suitability for forage production in saline and arid areas. Latest additions to the test programme include shrubs from Tunisia, Algeria, Israel and Australia. Some plants have been collected for their special suitability for revegetation of coastal dunes, road verges and mine spoil dumps.
